Major Hugh Moss Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), is located in Modesto, Stanislaus County, California. Meetings are usually held on the second Saturday of the month from January through May and September through December. For information about chapter meetings and membership information, contact our chapter regent

Objectives/Goals

History:  Assist in lineage research, contribute books and records to the DAR Library, have historic and American heritage programs, and identify and mark area historic sites and graves.

Education:  Send labels and monetary support to NSDAR schools, give scholarship awards to high school seniors, sponsor DAR Good Citizens awards, donate books to local elementary school libraries, and award elementary school students through the American History Essay Contest.

Patriotism:  Present DAR Youth Citizenship awards to eighth-graders, contribute personal items and needs to Modesto veterans, display flags on national holidays, attend veteran memorials, and give scholarships and medals to local Reserve Office Training Corps (ROTC) units.
